Companion - Nyx, an artificial familiar that he apparently created. It has the ability to shift its body to many weapons and such, but its limited with how much of itself is there to use. It is often used to spy and attack on behalf of its master. It's often in the shape of a bird for spying. It cannot stand the cold and has yellow stone-like eyes. So far there has been no reported ways of killing such a thing

Earth - can manipulate the earth to some degree (because having complete control is a little too OP for my tastes) and this frustrates him greatly

magic energy - the staple and basic of magic, he can throw some powerful blasts of these

Darkness - (not shadows nor Natural shadows) its a rather inky, liquid like darkness. Very artificial and seems rather odd...

Background

Born between two dark mages, Geryon is the eldest of their two children. Like his parents, he has a gift for magic and studied the dark artes though he could manipulate the earth to a certain degree. At the same time having to deal with his younger sister, who was constantly competing with him in everything to get their parents attention. As time went on and he grew, he surpassed his parents' magical abilities, which disappointed him. He was strong, powerful, but he felt he wasn't as powerful as he should have been. And he was rather disappointed in his parents, seeing them as petty fools who could no longer advance as he had.

Disgusted, he used the two as his first subjects in taking their powers and adding them to his own. He succeeded at the expensive of their lives, from it he strengthened his ability to manipulate the earth. Geryon still wasn't satisfied with his power increase, and decided to seek out more power, but not leech it from lesser mages. No, he needed the power of someone great power. So he left his home, deserted his sister, whom he thought of was nothing more than a nuisance and not all that powerful, therefore just a waste of effort.

As he wandered the lands, searching for stronger magics to add to his power and studying further. He came across Midna, the sorceress, seeing her power was great. But at his current state, he was no match for her, so instead he asked to be her student, which she accepted. As he learned and studied under her, he started to manipulate her feelings.

After he had kidnapped an infant from a queen, sensing a rare magic within the little girl, he gave the child to Midna as a 'gift', hoping that she would raise the child to nurture and strengthen that magic. As he waited for the child to grow powerful enough to steal her magic, Geryon conducted experiments on the child to see what rare gift she had and other various magics to content himself. Out of it, he seemingly created an artificial creature of darkness and made it his companion.

It was several years afterward that Midna had discovered his methods and treatment of the little girl that she lashed out in fury, destroying his books and horrid experiments, save for the creature and took the child with her to keep her away from Geryon's hands. The sorcerer was enraged, having discovered the girl's power. His companion was upset as well, somehow...

His purpose of chasing and hunting down Twili is for her power. While Twili has the ability to channel mana through her, which is reason some of her power is somewhat unusually strong and thus tires her out much more quickly until she learns to control it. She doesn't realize about that nor her actual power. But channeling mana better is not what Geryon seeks. It is her voice. Her voice is pure and very strong, and some magical artifacts react to such a pure sound. Which most artifacts use as sealing and unsealing 'key' since it such a rare gift.

And as such, Geryon seeks her voice to (or at least the power within it) become a power sorcerer, able to control such powerful artifacts with a stolen power.
